Daejeon Institute of Science & Technology for Enterprise & People (DiSTEP) is a Science and Industry Planning Policy Organization founded in 2020. DiSTEP specializes in promoting new industries and fostering regional innovation based on science and technology, linking Daedeok Innopolis with the local region, and evaluating and analyzing science and technology(S&T) innovation initiatives.

With growing global competition in cutting-edge technology and industry, Daejeon Metropolitan City is focusing on four strategic industries, including quantum and robotics. Below is DiSTEP's mission to enhance the city's strategic industry and innovation capabilities:

Enhancing capacity for strategic planning to elevate the “ABCD+QR” industries — Aerospace, Bio-health, Chips, Defense, Quantum, and Robotics — into national and global pillars.
